Darlos Scott Bean

Darlos Scott Bean, 81, of Gastonia went to be with her Lord and Savior, June 9, 2014 at CaroMont Regional Medical Center in Gastonia. Ms. Bean was born March 3, 1933 in Gaston County to the late Paul Jennings Scott and Iva Connor Heflin. She is also preceded in death by her grandson, Jay Michael Bean. She retired from AMP Inc. with 20 years service and was a longtime member of Faith United Methodist Church where she was very involved with the United Methodist Women and was Head of Trustees of the church. She was also a loyal member of TCB Elvis Fan Club. The absence of her presence in our daily life will leave a void for all of us that loved her.

Darlos Bean loved her friends and family unconditionally. Both in good times and in bad we all knew her love for each of us never wavered. We bonded around her kitchen table. The food was plentiful, the laughter abundant and the fellowship sweet. Darlos was a loving mother and her best friend was her daughter Judy. She was adored by her grandsons, Eric and Jay and her granddaughter, Alexys. For her daughter in law, Patti, she was a source of love and encouragement. Her son, Michael, had a great respect for the mom that raised him with both strength and kindness. Steve and Tim, Darlos`s brothers, shared a close relationship with her. Thru the years her sister in law Betsy and her nieces Stephanie, Kelley, Lindsey and their children brought her great joy.

Twenty nine years ago Darlos made a commitment of faith to Jesus Christ so today we do not have to say a final goodbye to this amazing lady. She has joined hands with those gone on before her and they all wait contentedly until we meet again.

Memorial Services to celebrate Darlos`s life will be held at 4:00 PM Saturday June 14 at Faith United Methodist Church with Reverend Kim Higgins officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Inurnment will be private.

Survivors include her children, Bryan "Mike" Bean (Patti) and Judy Bean Farnsworth. The children`s father, Bryan S. Bean. Brothers, Stephen Heflin (Cristine) and John Tim Heflin and 2 Grandchildren, Eric Scott Mixon and Alexys Leigh Bean.
