Cynthia Van Norden Folsom

Cynthia VanNorden Folsom of Mount Holly North Carolina passed away on March 26, 2025 at the age of 71.

Cindy, born in Atlanta, Georgia was the daughter of John D. VanNorden and Jenny Wade VanNorden. She spent her formative years in Scarsdale, New York and attended the Masters School in Dobbs Ferry. Upon graduating she went on to receive her Bachelor's degree from Chatham College and her Masters degree from the College of New Rochelle. She spent her early teaching years in the East Lyme public schools, taking a hiatus to raise three children. The family moved to Charleston, SC and after her children were older, Cindy returned to the classroom. She taught first at the James Island Christian school and then as lower school principal at Coastal Christian Preparatory School. 

Cindy, an amazingly devout person, shared her love for Jesus with everyone. His Glory guided her everyday actions. She prayed for others and consistently offered a helping hand. Her prophetic ministry blessed many people and offered quiet guidance. She spent much of her spare time quilting, and was very accomplished! An avid reader and gardener, she traveled extensively with her family.

She is survived by her husband of 44 years Randy; and her children, John (Ashley), James (Harriet) and Elizabeth King (Ryan). She also leaves six grandchildren, Graham, Hayes, Wade, Jack, Emily, and Alice, and a brother John VanNorden (Janey) of Atlanta, Georgia.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 5 at 1 PM at Belmont Foursquare Church, 8 Elizabeth Street Belmont North Carolina. Arrangements have been trusted to Benson Funeral Services of Mount Holly. Burial will be at a later date in Randolph, NH.
