Claudia Jean Knight

Claudia Howell Knight, 68, of Monroe, was called home to be with the Lord on November 24, 2018.
A native of Charlotte NC, Claudia was born December 28, 1949. She graduated from Harding High School in 1968. Claudia loved spending time with her family and close friends, and loved her dog Teddy.  She loved the beach and always looked forward to spending time at Holden Beach, NC with her sister and extended family, especially at the Festival by the Sea. She also loved to visit Charleston. She enjoyed getting together with her friends from Harding High School. Claudia enjoyed crafts and painting beautiful ceramics and building ginger bread houses with special loved ones during the holidays. She was a retired telecommunications representative.
 
Ms. Knight is preceded in death by her parents B. P. Howell and Earline B. Howell.
Claudia is survived by her daughter Christy Knight (Richard) and her son Chad Heffner, also her grandson Dylan Knight (Kelsee), two great grandchildren, Isabella and Wyatt, brothers Bill Howell (Jo), and Randy Howell (Shannon), and sister Kelly Calhoun (Ronald) and many nieces, nephews and cousins. The family would like to extend a special thank you to our close friend, Tina Rose, a guardian angel.
A celebration of Claudia's life will be held on Tuesday December 4, 2018 at 2:00 pm with family visitation following the service at Blair United Methodist Church, 9135 Blair Road, Mint Hill, NC.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to The Salvation Army or to the Humane Society of Union County.
