Clarence O. Rhyne Jr

CRAMERTON - Clarence O. Rhyne Jr., 88, passed away on April 21, 2013, with his family by his side.

He was born to the late Clarence O. Rhyne Sr. and Cora Lee Ingram Rhyne on Nov. 21, 1924. Clarence attended High School in Gastonia before joining the US Navy. He was a WWII Veteran; Member of the Lowell Masonic Lodge and the Last Mans Club of Gaston County. He was a member of New Hope Baptist Church.

Family and friends were Clarence`s passion and delight. He loved his grandchildren and great grandchildren, Mr. Winston, Mr. Simon & the staff at Georgio`s Restaurant. He loved to travel to the beach and mountains with his daughters.

Clarence is survived by his daughters, Susan Rhyne of Linville Falls, NC and Lisa Rhyne Pruitt and husband, Ken Pruitt of Gastonia, NC, four grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at noon on April 24, 2013, at New Hope Baptist Church. Pastor Ned Buckner will be officiating. Burial will follow at Gaston Memorial Park with Military honors conducted by the Gaston County Honor Guard. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Masonic Home for Children at Oxford, 600 College St. Oxford, NC 27565. The family will greet friends prior to the service from 11 a.m. to noon at New Hope Baptist Church.
