Christopher "Possum" Lee Plemmons

Christopher "Possum" Lee Plemmons, 62, of Gastonia passed away October 1, 2023 at Caromont Regional Medical Center in Gastonia.  He was born in Gaston County on September 26, 1961 to Martha Spears Plemmons and the late Paul Grant Plemmons.  He is also preceded in death by his brother, Brian Plemmons; sister, Suzi Plemmons; daughter, Brittany Plemmons; and a special aunt, Frankie Hudgins.  Possum attended One Accord Independent Church in Gastonia.  He was an avid sports fan.  A few of his favorites included Tarheel Basketball, Dale Earnhardt, Jimmy Johnson, and the Carolina Panthers.  He enjoyed traveling to the beach or the mountains.  He loved to go camping.  Possum loved to talk to people and he never met a stranger.

In addition to his mother, survivors include his ex-wife, Becky Plemmons; son, Gavin Plemmons and fiance Shae Inman; brothers by another mother, Skip and Scott Barker and JR Plemmons and wife Teresa; special sister, Kim Conner and husband Johnny; uncles, Kenneth Plemmons and Sonny Plemmons and wife Pat; aunts, Inez Spears, Nellie Spears, and Betty Spears; grandchildren, Mason Heavener, Brittani Plemmons, and McKenzie Plemmons.

Memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 7. 2023 at 3:00 p.m. at One Accord Independent Church, 115 West Ridge St, Gastonia, NC 28052. with Pastor Zackariah Plemmons officiating.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service from 2:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.
