Cecil Harold Duckworth

Cecil Harold Duckworth Sr., 86, of Belmont passed away Saturday June 10, 2017 at the Robin Johnson House in Dallas. Mr. Duckworth was born February 12, 1931 in Swain County to the late Ran and Thelma Watkins Duckworth. He was a US Army Veteran serving during the Korean Conflict and was a member of American Legion Post 144 in Belmont. Cecil was an avid lover of fishing, loved the mountains and the beach, nascar and football. He loved his family but especially his grandchildren. Survivors include his loving wife of 60 years Martha Jean Duckworth. Son, Cecil Harold Duckworth Jr, Daughters Mary Duckworth Mason and husband Steve and Loretta Lynn Luman. Five Grandchildren, Toni, Maria, Misty, Markus and Shaylee and also three great grandchildren, Madyson, Kayla and Olivia. Two brothers, Percival Ray Duckworth and Hershel Duckworth. Memorial Services to Celebrate Mr. Duckworth’s life will be held at 7:00 PM today at Mt. Holly Church of God with Rev. Dennis Bean officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Inurnment services will be held at 11:00 AM Monday June 19 at the VA National Cemetery, 202 Government Ave. Salisbury, NC with Full Military Honors.
