On May 26, 2024, at the age of 78, the world lost a talented painter by trade and a beloved soul. Buford Andrew Doss Sr., born in Bristol, TN on November 2, 1945, to the late Noah Doss and Katherine Parks Doss, passed away peacefully at his residence.
Buford was not just a painter by trade; he infused his passion into every stroke of the brush creating masterpieces that will stand the test of time. His love for his job shone through in every wall he painted.
Described as a great tormentor and jokester, Buford's personality lit up any room he entered. His ability to bring laughter and joy to those around him was truly a gift.
Beyond his profession, Buford found solace in tinkering with cars and delight in messing around with lawn mowers. These simple hobbies brought him immense joy and relaxation.
One of Buford's proudest accomplishments was his unwavering love for his grandchildren. His dedication and love to them knew no bounds, and his presence in their lives will be irreplaceable.
In addition to his parents, Buford was also preceded in death by his daughter, Cynthia Doss, and his brothers, Tom Doss and Raymond Doss. He now reunites with them in eternal peace.
Buford leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter to be carried on by his surviving family and friends. He is survived by his children: Buford "Andrew" Doss Jr. and wife Sharon, Joseph Lee Doss, Billy Ervin, and Crystal Ervin; sisters: Juanita Malaha, May Reedy, and Katherine Nunley; brothers: Dallas Doss and wife Eva, John Doss and wife Rita, and Noah Doss; grandchildren: Cynthia Jo Doss, Joseph Doss Jr., Damian Nathanial Doss, Austin Gregory Doss, Nicole Ann Sorner, and David Allen Doss; as well as eight great great-grandchildren.
Buford Andrew Doss Sr.'s life touched countless hearts, leaving behind cherished memories that will be forever treasured by all who had the privilege of knowing him. May he rest in peace knowing he was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed.
