Bonnie Sue Dowdle

Bonnie Sue Dowdle, 84, of Belmont passed away Friday April 28, 2023 at her residence. Bonnie was born in Pulaski, Virginia on February, 15, 1939 to the late George and Cosby Marshall Laxton. She is preceded in death by her daughters Susan and Teresa Capps and also her twin sister Betty Laxton Mattox. Bonnie was a bank bookkeeper throughout her life. She loved the mountains and the beach. She was avid about caring for her wild birds and she also enjoyed planting and caring for her flower gardens. Bonnie was loved by all who knew her and will be sadly missed. Survivors include her loving husband of 27 years, Charles "Dale" Dowdle. Her children, Trey and Mike Capps. Granddaughter, Brittany and great grandchildren Emmett, Jacob and Natalie along with numerous nieces and nephews. Memorial Service to Celebrate Mrs. Dowdle's  life will be Thursday May 4 at 2:00 PM at Benson Funeral & Cremation Services, 101 Oak Grove St., Mt. Holly with Pastor Kevin Ford officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at 1:00 PM. Interment services will be held at a later date.
