Betty Baker Grotts

Betty Baker Grotts, 87, of Mt. Holly peacefully passed away, May 6, 2023 at her home with her family.  Mom was born in Sioux City, Iowa on November 27, 1935.  She was preceded in death by her brothers, Art, Jim, and John Baker; sister,Ruth McDermott; her son, Steve Grotts; and her grandsons, Joey, Richie, and Stevie Grotts.  Betty was a member of Mt. Holly First United Methodist Church.  She loved painting and writing stories and spending days in her gardens around her home.  

She loved her family and is survived by her son, Richard Lee Grotts and wife Susie; daughter, Cynthia Lou Malson and husband Brian; son, Joseph Allen Grotts and wife Susan; grandchildren, Danny Grotts, Lindsay Rutland, Leslie Rutland, Kelly Grotts, Jake Grotts, and Samantha Grotts; great grandchildren, Carmine and Giovanni Velazquez, Addie and Blakelyn Grotts, Nancy Grotts, Casandra Grosso, Kaitlynn and TJ Kindervater; and great great grandchild, Bella.  Mom loved and treasured all her special friends, Lee, Sally, Dianna, Christine, Steve, and Dean who filled her days with love compassion and companionship.  

A Celebration of Life graveside service will be held by the family on Thursday, June 22, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. in the memorial gardens at First United Methodist Church, 140 N Main St #1768, Mt Holly, NC 28120.
