Barry Max Bell, 75, of Gastonia, passed away peacefully May 11, 2014 at the Robin Johnson House in Dallas. Mr. Bell was born February 27, 1939 in Rutherford County, NC to the late Henry Clay Bell and Ethel Biggerstaff Bell. He was also preceded by a son, Martin Clay Bell. He was a longtime member of Loray Baptist Church where he taught Sunday school for 37 years and served as Deacon. He was a retired pharmacist and also was a woodworker and owner of Woodmaster, Inc. He was former owner with his father of Franklin Drug Store and retired from Belmont Drug Store.
Survivors include his loving wife of 40 years, Kathy G. Bell. Sons: Andrew "Andy" Bell of Bangkok, Thailand and Charles "Chuck" Bell of Gastonia. Grandchildren, Brandon and Morgan. Brother, Ted Bell (Nancy) and sister Jannine Bell Dellinger (Gary) and very special friends, Bill Davis, Dennis Cloninger, A. Gordon Lewis and also David Hammonds. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 7:00 PM Friday May 16 at Loray Baptist Church with Dr. Kent Cranford officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
