Barre Walter Spencer

Barre Walter Spencer, age 74, of Mount Holly, N.C., formerly of McAdenville, N.C., passed away on June 1, 2022.  He was preceded in death by his parents, William Howard Spencer and France Dellinger Spencer and brothers, Wayne Howard Spencer and David Brady Spencer.

Survivors include his wife, Rhonda Kay Moss Spencer of McAdenville, N.C.; daughters, Kristy (Joe Griffin) and Tina Fowler; sister, Darinda Fredricksen (Skip); and 7 grandchildren, Austin Fowler, Hunter Fowler, Karrigan Fowler, Amber Randall, Kylee Randall, Jake Griffin, Henry Diegert and his lifelong best friend Donnie Owens.

Barre was born on October 30, 1947 and raised in McAdenville, N.C.  He was a graduate of Frank L. Ashley High School, Lees McRae Junior College, and Gaston College.  He served in the U.S. Army for 3 years during the Vietnam War and the Army National Guard for 18 years.  Barre retired from Duke Energy after 20 years and was a member of the Belmont Foursquare Church.

Celebration of Barre's life will be held on Thursday June 9th at 5:00 PM at Belmont Four Square Church with Pastor Kevin Ford officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00-5:00 PM. Interment will be private.
