Anne Cecilia Wathey

Anne S. Wathey, 95, of Charlotte passed away on December 22, 2016 at her son’s residence.  Ms. Wathey was born in Brooklyn, NY on February 24, 1921 to the late Frank and Frances Slominski. She is also preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, John B. Wathey. Ms. Wathey loved children and was a long time member of Kings Cross Presbyterian Church where she taught children’s Sunday school and also at various Day Care Centers. She was a devoted wife and mother of 4 children. She enjoyed gardening and loved flowers. Ms. Wathey was a sweet and caring lady and will be missed by all who knew her. Survivors include her children Janet Anne Pinkham and husband Albert of Juliaetta Idaho, John Wathey and wife Maryann of San Diago, CA., William Joseph Wathey of Charlotte and Robert D. Wathey of Gastonia. Sister, Stella Bozik of Florida, 5 grand and 7 great grandchildren. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM Monday December 26 at Sharon Memorial Park in Charlotte with Reverend Richard “Dick” Shaw officiating. A Memorial Service will also be held to remember Anne at 11:00 AM Saturday January 21, 2017 at Kings Cross Presbyterian Church, 3936 Craig Ave., Charlotte, NC 28211.
