Amy Hoang Nguyen

Amy Hoang Nguyễn, 28, of Belmont, passed away May 21, 2023 at the Caromont Regional Hospital in Gastonia with her family by her side. Amy was born in Binghamton, New York on October 28, 1994.

Amy was an extraordinary daughter to her mother Hong Hoang, a supportive fiancé to Joshua Hickler, a loving mother to her daughter Madison Hickler, and an inspiration to her siblings Aaron Nguyen, Adam Nguyen, Benjamin Smith, Elizabeth Smith, and Catherine Smith. In her spare time, she enjoyed watching cartoons, figuring crossword puzzles, coloring sketch books, drawing, and listening to music. She truly enjoyed the simpler things in life and wanted nothing more than to enjoy good food and quality time with her family.

Amy was a selfless soul who cared for everyone around her and never asked much from others. She is happiest through bonding time with family and friends joking around with endless laughers. She is a beam of light that lit up the room with her laughter.

Left to carry on memories of her beautiful soul include her fiancé Joshua Hickler, her daughter Madison Hickler, mother Hong Hoang, brothers Aaron Nguyen, Adam Nguyen and Benjamin Smith, sisters Elizabeth and Cathy Smith, uncle Tung Bui, aunt Lan Hoang, and cousins Phuong Bui, Xuan Bui, Jayne Bui, and Kevin Bui. 


Funeral services to celebrate Amy’s Life will be on Sunday, June 4, 2023 at 2:00 pm at Evergreen Cemetery, 1462 Armstrong Ford Rd, Belmont, NC 28012, with Phuong Twee Falls saying prayers and officiating.
